Library Heating System Update

TO:            OUR PATRONS

FROM:      LIBRARY DIRECTOR

RE:            HEATING SYSTEM UPDATE

We appreciate your patience during the last two months when we had no heat.  Three new high-efficiency Trane units were installed on the roof. Patrons should feel more comfortable now; however, please keep in mind that although we have new equipment, the overall system is still old and zoning was not updated.

During the last few months, we addressed other small repairs and maintenance items. Most recently, the parking lot was patched; we installed three speed bumps and enlarged the berm at the top of the driveway on Ponquogue to help reduce the amount of street run-off that causes flooding at the bottom of the slope.

We are planning additional work for the coming months and will make every effort to have the work done during off hours so as not to affect our patrons’ use of the Library. If a project does necessitate closing the building, or a section of the building, we will provide as much advance notice as possible.

If you have any questions, I am available most weekdays during business hours.
